    How we can help

Employers have a legal duty to provide a safe working environment, suitable equipment, and appropriate training.

We take a straightforward and supportive approach, with a focus on resolving matters efficiently wherever possible.

    Common workplace accident claims

We regularly assist clients who have suffered injuries in a wide range of workplace environments, including offices, construction sites, warehouses, factories, farms, and healthcare settings.

    Common types of accidents include:

    • Slips, trips and falls
    • Falls from height
    • Injuries caused by defective or unsuitable equipment
    • Accidents involving machinery or workplace vehicles
    • Injuries caused by colleagues
    • Manual handling injuries
    • Incidents arising from inadequate training or unsafe systems of work

    Employer responsibilities

Your employer is legally required to:

    • Provide a safe place of work
    • Supply suitable and properly maintained equipment
    • Ensure staff are appropriately trained and supervised
    • Put safe systems of work in place

Where these obligations are not met, and an injury occurs as a result, you may be entitled to pursue a claim.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to claim against my employer directly?

No. Employers are required to have insurance in place, and it is typically their insurer that deals with and pays any compensation awarded.

Can I make a claim if the accident was partly my fault?

In some cases, yes. Claims can still proceed where responsibility is shared, although this may affect the level of compensation.

How long do I have to make a claim?

In most cases, you have three (3) years from the date of the accident (or from when you became aware of your injury) to bring a claim.

Will making a claim affect my job?

You have a legal right to pursue a claim if you have been injured due to negligence. Employers should not treat you unfairly for doing so.

Case Study: £10,300 Settlement Following Workplace Trip Accident

Our team at What’s My Claim Worth successfully secured a compensation settlement of £10,300 for our client, Ms J, a 23-year-old retail assistant who was injured while working at a department store in Knightsbridge, London.

Ms J was working behind the tills when she tripped over a shopping bag that had been left on the floor in a staff walkway. The bags, supplied by the store, had not been stored appropriately, creating a foreseeable tripping hazard.

As a result of the fall, Ms J sustained injuries to her wrist and knee. Although a fracture was initially suspected, medical investigations later confirmed soft tissue injuries. Despite this, she experienced ongoing pain and reduced mobility, which led to an absence from work of approximately three months.

During this period, Ms J did not receive her full salary, resulting in a loss of earnings, which formed part of her claim.

Our Solicitors pursued a claim against her employer on the basis of negligence and breach of statutory duty, given their responsibility to maintain a safe working environment. Liability was accepted by the employer’s insurers, and we secured a settlement of £10,300 to reflect both her injuries and associated financial losses.
